Kalypso is the oldest club on Zrće Beach, tracing back to a small beach bar founded in 1987 before growing into an open-air venue that its own site says now holds more than 3,000 people — generally regarded as the pioneer of the beach's party culture, and the reference point the rest of Zrće's clubs are usually measured against.
What it's known for
For 2026, Kalypso's own site describes a full redesign it calls "a new era of futuristic design" — an expanded, modernised pool area for daytime events, a rebuilt sound system, new lighting and production, and an upgraded VIP area with private tables. Alongside its regular programme, Kalypso hosts a dense run of major festivals through the season: its 2026 calendar lists Jada Fest, Spring Break Island, Erasmus Dreamland, Whoop Events, Rebel International, Hideout Festival, Dropzone, Balkan Wave & Blaze Festival, Verknipt Croatia, AGZ and Sika Ents, running from late April through to a dedicated closing festival in late August.
Booking
Booking for named festivals and VIP tables runs event by event through Instagram links and a dedicated VIP booking form on the site, rather than a single beach-club-wide reservation system — reflecting that Kalypso operates more as a festival venue with a packed calendar than a walk-up daytime lounger club.

Getting there
Kalypso is on Zrće Beach near Novalja, on Pag Island (see it on the map). There's no airport on Pag itself; Zadar Airport on the mainland, connected by the Pag bridge, and Rijeka Airport are the usual arrival points, both requiring a road transfer of an hour or more.
