Maçakızı's beach deck is the daytime face of the boutique Maçakızı hotel, open since the 1970s and relocated to its current Göltürkbükü site in 2000. According to Condé Nast Traveler's own hotel review, it was founded by Ayla Emiroğlu — nicknamed "Maçakızı," the Queen of Spades — as a guesthouse that became Bodrum's original insider address, before her son Sahir Erozan took over and moved it around the bay to its present pine-covered hillside.

The beach itself is a private deck with sunbeds and loggias, plus two pontoons kept ready through the day for yacht arrivals — a longstanding rather than a recently built feature of the peninsula. Maçakızı is in Göltürkbükü, also called Türkbükü (see it on the map), on the Bodrum peninsula, around 45 minutes from Milas–Bodrum Airport by road.
