Book with financial protection, not a stranger's bank details
Before sending anyone money for a package, check the seller is actually authorised to hold it.
- ABTA — the UK travel trade association; its site has a member search so you can check whether a travel company is a genuine, bonded ABTA member before you pay it anything.
- ATOL protection (UK Civil Aviation Authority) — explains when a package holiday is financially protected, so your money is refunded if the organiser goes bust before or during your trip.
